Download the Sidecar

Install the sidecar software to download and share movies at flixq.com. The sidecar is available for Windows and Mac OS X.

Windows (XP SP2+, Vista, or 7)   v2.0, 6.7 MB     download
Mac OS X (Intel 10.5 or 10.6)   v2.0, 8.2 MB     download

The sidecar is certified free of viruses, worms, spyware, or any other kind of malware. It is not bundled with any other software; it will not install a toolbar, or steal your file associations. It does only what it says it does. It's the kind of software you could install on your grandparents' computer -- everything is controlled from a standard web browser, so they do not have to learn how to use a helper application or plugin. If you do not like it, there is an uninstaller you can use to remove it. But we're pretty sure you'll fall in love with it.

Installation Instructions

Windows: Download the FlixQ setup program above. Double click the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions to install it. Then double-click the FlixQ icon on your desktop (or choose FlixQ from your Start Menu programs) to start the sidecar.

Mac OS X: Download the FlixQ-2.0.dmg file above. When it finishes downloading, a window with the FlixQ application will open. Drag the FlixQ icon into the Applications folder to install it. Then open the Applications folder and double-click the FlixQ icon to start the sidecar.

Software Updates

The sidecar checks for updates and alerts you via the flixq.com website when an update is ready to install. If you choose to install an update, the sidecar downloads the update and installs it automatically. If you prefer, you can redownload the sidecar from this page and replace your existing installation with the latest version. The Settings box on your profile page tells you what version of the sidecar you're currently using.
